Starting his building career at age six cleaning bricks for his father who was also a builder, Damian Canny was inspired by the trade which led him to a carpentry apprenticeship. At 18 he partnered with Lachy Watson and the pair worked hard fitting out retail stores and constructing houses which led to a large national construction project with Gazman.
Diligence, attention to detail and hard work has earned the Canny business a reputation for quality, especially in the affluent inner east region of Melbourne. This reputation for quality generated an abundance of repeat and referred business leading Canny to its success today.
An experienced industry executive with 30 years combined commercial and domestic building industry experience across a multitude of industry sectors. Greg owned and operated successful building and development companies, including a commercial and industrial remedial business.
As Group CEO, Greg has direct control of delivering the business plan. He has established a senior management team of proven industry professionals capable of elevating Canny to become the builder of choice for developers and private investors who appreciate the sophisticated value managed outcomes the Group can provide. Greg has been directly responsible for elevating Group turnover year on year to place Canny in a strong financial position for the future.
The level head of Lachy Watson has helped guide Canny since 1999. As Commercial Manager, Lachy is responsible for developing and overseeing all business functions and strategy to ensure efficient growth across every business unit within the Canny Group.
Lachy was involved in the early growth of the company through the successful delivery of multiple commercial projects for major retailers, including Gazman and Sanity Music, as well as ensuing custom residential projects of up to $10 million and multi-residential projects valued at over $50 million.
Josh has had direct and indirect experience in property and construction entities for over 14 years. His skill at advising and working directly with both listed and non-listed property groups has placed him in good stead for advising on appropriate structuring, tax and accounting treatment of complex property transactions.
Josh’s expertise in acquisitions, sales, partnering and general management of internal finance and tax components of property funds has allowed him to establish accurate accounting controls throughout the course of his career.
As the Design Practice Manager of Canny Architecture and an award-winning architect in Melbourne, Michael is informed by more than 20 years of architectural experience. His multidisciplinary role at Canny includes design, documentation control, contract administration, project programming and office management.
Before joining Canny Architecture, Michael was an associate at Jackson Clements Burrows and helped expedite key projects including the $43 million Clara townhouse and apartment development in South Yarra, the $120 million multi-residential Coburg Apartments, the $45 million Cullen Hotel, Prahran, and a $21 million 29 unit development in Lord Street, Richmond.
Kieren has 15 years development experience across a broad range of construction industry sectors and possesses expertise across all aspects of end to end project and development management. He has worked on many medium and large scale mixed use development projects including the $1.2 billion ‘Waterfront City’ project at Docklands transforming challenging sites into dynamic contemporary developments.
Kieren is responsible for the acquisition and roll out of new projects for Canny Projects and the successful integration of these opportunities with Canny’s construction and design operations.
With over 18 years’ experience in residential construction in Melbourne, Damian has been involved in all facets of the building industry from civil works and site supervision to sales and business development. Prior to commencing at Canny, Damian spent 2 years as Sales and Development Manager for a volume builder and 7 years as Operations/Sales Manager at a multi-award winning volume builder. Both roles required him to work strategically to build market share for these businesses and develop plans to improve operational excellence.
With his strong operations background and solid sales capability, Damian has the skills to build the business toward a new level of productivity.
Anthony moved to Melbourne from Adelaide where he managed a leading concrete pool company that built pools for commercial and residential projects. Receiving almost 30 award wins across SPASA nationally and locally, Anthony knows what goes into luxury pools and was even a judge for the 2014 SPASA Victoria Award of Excellence.
After the business started in 2002, Anthony achieved extensive growth from a small concrete and fibreglass renovator to a complete design and construction service working alongside the high end builders and architects in Adelaide. His approach is meticulous, with a keen eye for detail and focus on developing processes with a strong desire to challenge his team to continuously improve their level of service, ensuring clients have a positive and memorable experience with Integrated Pools.
