With another Melbourne winter well and truly upon us, our interior designers from Canny Architecture, have shared their simple tips to create a chic and inviting home this season. This advice will ensure your home feels warm, cosy and winter-welcoming throughout the cooler months ahead.
With the sun rising later and setting earlier natural light is scarce, ensure your living areas are well equipped with plenty of soft ambient and task lighting solutions. Swap out your bright light fittings for warmer lamp shades to create an inviting homely atmosphere.
Roll out your thick, soft pile floor rugs and ensure your lounge areas are well appointed with wool knit blankets, throws and comfortable cushions in warm hues to tie in with the mood. Be careful not to overdo it – sometimes all you need is one or two of these items to create the desired impact.
Lighter woods are trending this season; together with natural stones and materials these elements will bring more warmth through texture and movement. View some lighter timber floorboard galleries in our Lubelso Hawthorn home and Canny Architecture‘s Malvern home.
