When people choose to build a luxury pool, they want it to suit their lifestyle and to be able to be used more than just during the summer months. When designing custom built pools for clients, the team at Integrated Pools will often suggest to clients to add a pool cover to ensure they are able to make the most of their overall investment.
Two of the most popular cover choices are Blankets and Polycarbonate Slat Covers.
If water saving is a key requirement, it’s good to know that a good quality pool cover will eliminate over 90% of the potential water loss due to evaporation. This not only helps you save money on refilling all year round but it also offers you other savings in the overall running cost of your pool.
A thermal blanket is up to twice as effective at retaining heat as a solar or bubble blanket, which adds to the heating efficiency. It may be an obvious statement, but it’s important to note that most of the heat loss in pools happens at night due to the dramatic drop in temperature. This means that when you go to heat the pool the next day, it’s got to use a lot more energy than it would if it had been covered with a thermal blanket.
Polycarbonate Slat Covers
A polycarbonate slat cover is electronically controlled and is a much more hard-wearing option than a blanket. Clear polycarbonate slats are specifically designed and constructed for your pool with a variety of options to suit the size, aspect and location of your pool.
