We couldn’t be happier with the outcome of this architect designed home. Following the write up in the recent edition of Australian House and Garden, we take a look back at the original client brief for this Lubelso home and chat with our head architect about how this was achieved.
The Canny Architecture team put together a thoughtfully designed floor plan along with architectural flexibility ensured this home caters for the family’s individual needs.
“With the house so well designed, it means everyone has their own space, but we all enjoy coming together at meal times,” says Kylie (client).
Zoned living spaces allow a sense of privacy for the teenagers of the home to entertain their friends without disruption while well-proportioned rooms and considered wall spaces ensure mum and dad’s prized ensemble of antiques and art pieces fit perfectly within the contemporary space.
The distinctive clean lines of architecture have created a striking backdrop to showcase the clients eclectic personal collection of artwork and vintage English, French and Scandinavian furniture shipped across the globe over their travels. Floor to ceiling windows have been utilised throughout to allow light to enter in abundance throughout the house at all times of the day.
The informal living area at the rear was opened up to the north east incorporating full height sliding doors with a fixed panel behind the floating fireplace.
“This helps direct your eye to the swimming pool and garden, which lengthens the view from the passage to the outside and achieves beautiful orientation to the sunlight.” Michael Stelluto, Design Practice Manager (Canny Architecture.)
